Through a unique lens, Jaime transforms the hidden architecture of the human body into art, creating works that challenge the boundaries of medicine and art. His journey is one of discovery, where the intersection of two hearts—clinical and creative—reveals the profound complexity of what it means to live.

Director's Statement

A Tale of Two Hearts is a portrait of Dr. Jaime Belkind-Gerson, a pediatric gastroenterologist

and visual artist whose work transforms medical imagery into deeply human art.

I was drawn to Jaime because his life bridges worlds: science and art, medicine and memory,

the clinical and the personal. His work asks us to look beneath the surface of the body, identity, and belonging.

My goal was to make a quiet, intimate film that reflects that same tension,

showing how art can make the invisible parts of our lives visible.
